Lawyer: If you will, please state your name

Sir LB James: Sure, I am Sir LB James, Son of King James I, Lord of Cleveland

L: Now lets begin. You are defending King John, why?

LBJ: Although he sometimes could be cruel. I have always thought he was a good king.

L: You said you thought he was a good king? Just for the record do you have any relationships with him?

LBJ: Oh yes, King John and I go way back. I defended and was at his side when he fought the French, and he even named me one of his Royal Subjects. He even came to me for advice when he was signing the Magna Carta.

L: So you are of High Status. Did he ever treat you badly?

LBJ: Well, Yes and No. At times he seemed like he was my best friend, But then he would come out of nowhere and tax me brutally. But then he would reward me with many things.

L: Ahh, I see, were these rewards a bribe. Oh and just for further memory what were these rewards?

LBJ: No, not at all. He gave these rewards to me for loyalty and respect. Oh and the rewards were large amounts of money and a room at his palace.

L: Interesting. So he came to you for advice. How did this work out for you?

LBJ: Well my plan was to tell not to sign it. But my son had came and told me that he had taken land from his friends family. So that was when it was apparent to me that he should sign the document. So later that day he came rushing into my room at the Palace. He exclaimed that people had been chasing him around all day telling him to sign the document. And that’s when I said. John, you should sign the Magna Carta. I told him that he had been cruel to peasants. Finally, he barely agreed with me. So he decided to sign the document

L: What was he like after the signing?

LBJ: He was horrible. And since he lost power and I gained power. I had to make a few judgments for at least a week.

L: I see, so whether King John is innocent or guilty. Will it change your mind towards him?

LBJ: No, It won’t. Whether he is guilty or not I will still defend him and still think of him as a good king.

L: Oh so you have a lot of respect for him?

LBJ: Like I said before he has given me so much, much more even to be thankful for. So all the things he has given to my family and to me, I will always be loyal.

L: He sounds like a great guy, but face it Sir. He is not a good guy?

LBJ: How dare you say that, he was our king. He is great and he has given the kingdom so much.
